Privacy Policy

The plain-English detail on what Snop processes, where it is stored and the choices you control.

Snop is provided by Creative Crow Ltd (UK). This policy covers the Snop app and the Snop website at snop.dev.

1. TL;DR

Your prompts are yours. Snop stores them on your Apple devices and synchronises them through your private iCloud using Apple CloudKit. You do not create a Snop account, and Creative Crow does not operate a hosted database containing your prompts.

Local first: Core capture, organisation and copy features work without an internet connection.
Private iCloud sync: Apple synchronises your content between devices signed into your Apple Account.
No Snop registration: We do not ask for an email address, password or profile to use the app.
Optional newsletter: If you subscribe on the website, we use your email to send occasional Snop product news, practical ideas and updates about what we are building.
Prompts stay out of analytics and payments: We do not send prompt text, titles, project names or clipboard contents to analytics or subscription providers.
Privacy-focused website measurement: snop.dev uses cookieless Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate traffic measurement.
No advertising: We do not sell personal data, use prompts to train AI, serve advertising or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

2. Information Snop processes

Content you create

Snop processes information you choose to enter, including:

prompt text and titles;
project names and project assignments;
creation and modification dates; and
whether and when a prompt was copied or marked as used.

This content is stored locally on your devices. If iCloud is available, it is synchronised through the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account. Creative Crow does not run a separate hosted prompt database and does not receive your prompt content as part of normal app operation. Apple processes iCloud data under its own terms and privacy policy. Your use of iCloud depends on your Apple Account, device settings, storage allowance and Apple’s service availability. Please avoid storing passwords, private keys, API credentials or other secrets in Snop. Snop is a prompt-capture tool, not a secrets manager or independent backup service.

No Snop account

Snop does not require its own account, email registration or password. Cross-device synchronisation uses the Apple Account configured on your device. Creative Crow does not receive your iCloud credentials. The app may use local identifiers and CloudKit record identifiers to manage data and synchronisation. These are used by the app and Apple’s services rather than to create a Creative Crow user profile.

On-device title generation

On supported Apple devices, Snop may create a short title from a prompt using Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework. The model used by Snop runs on the device. Prompt content is not sent to Creative Crow or a third-party AI provider for this feature, and we do not use it to train AI. If the model is unavailable, Snop uses a local fallback, such as the first line of the prompt.

Siri, Shortcuts and dictation

If you create a prompt using Siri, Shortcuts or system dictation, Apple processes the spoken or typed input according to your device settings and Apple’s privacy terms. Snop receives the resulting text and handles it like any other prompt.

Product analytics

Snop uses PostHog for optional product analytics. Analytics is off by default and begins only if you choose to enable it. If enabled, PostHog receives a random, pseudonymous installation identifier; named events such as app launches and feature use; app version; device type; operating-system version; language; timestamps; and an approximate country or region derived from the network connection. We configure PostHog without person profiles and do not identify users or link the analytics identifier to RevenueCat, an Apple Account or other contact information. Session replay, automatic screen and element interaction capture, surveys, advertising features and error or crash capture are disabled. We do not send prompt text, titles, project names, clipboard contents, contact details or precise location to PostHog. Analytics is not used for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. You can enable or disable analytics in Snop’s settings. Disabling analytics stops future collection. You may contact us about deletion of analytics data Creative Crow controls, although we may need the pseudonymous identifier shown by the app to locate it.

Website analytics

The Snop website at snop.dev uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic, such as page views, popular pages and referring sites. At the date above, we use it for standard page-view analytics rather than advertising or tracking visitors across other companies’ websites. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies. It creates a privacy-preserving hash from information in the incoming request to count a visitor during a single day. The hash resets after 24 hours and is not designed to follow a visitor across different days or websites. The incoming request can contain an IP address, which Vercel may process to generate the hash and derive approximate location, but the analytics data available to Creative Crow is not tied to an IP address or an identifiable person. Analytics data may include the time of a visit; page or route viewed; referring site; filtered query parameters; approximate country, region or city; browser; operating system; and device type. We use this information only to measure and improve the website. Please do not include personal information, credentials or secrets in website URLs or query parameters.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes purchases through the App Store. Creative Crow does not receive payment-card details. Snop offers an auto-renewable annual subscription. Apple displays the final local price and terms before purchase. RevenueCat validates purchases and manages subscription entitlements. It may process an automatically generated App User ID, device and app information, App Store receipt and transaction information, products purchased, subscription status, renewal and expiry dates, and an approximate country inferred from the IP address. We do not send prompt or project content to RevenueCat.

Support communications

If you use the support form at www.snop.dev/support, we process the information you choose to provide, including your first name, optional surname, email address, subject, request type, message and any screenshots you attach. Please do not send prompt content unless necessary and you are comfortable sharing it. The form is hosted and transmitted through Vercel, protected against automated abuse by Cloudflare Turnstile, and stored in Airtable so Creative Crow can manage and respond to the request. Cloudflare may process technical signals such as your IP address, user agent, TLS characteristics, browser environment and a short-lived verification token for security purposes. Vercel processes the request while providing the website and server endpoint. Airtable stores the support information and attachments on Creative Crow’s behalf.

If you subscribe to the newsletter at www.snop.dev/waitlist, we process the email address you provide to send occasional Snop product news, practical ideas and updates about what we are building. Subscribing is optional, does not create a Snop account and is not required to use the app. We do not use the address for third-party advertising. The form is hosted and transmitted through Vercel, protected against automated abuse by Cloudflare Turnstile, and stored in Airtable. Cloudflare may process the same technical security signals described for the support form above. You can withdraw at any time by contacting us at support@creativecrow.io.

Clipboard

Snop writes a selected prompt to the clipboard only when you ask it to. Snop does not read unrelated clipboard contents.

3. Why we process information

Where UK data-protection law applies, we rely on:

Providing the app and paid features: performance of our contract with you.
Purchases and entitlement management: performance of our contract, legal obligations and legitimate interests in preventing fraud.
Optional analytics: consent where required, or legitimate interests where local law permits and appropriate safeguards are used.
Website analytics: legitimate interests in understanding and improving the website through privacy-focused aggregate measurement.
Support: performance of our contract and legitimate interests in resolving problems.
Newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Security and legal compliance: legitimate interests and compliance with legal obligations.

Most prompt content is processed locally and by Apple through your iCloud, rather than received by Creative Crow.

4. Who processes information

Apple: iCloud and CloudKit synchronisation, App Store purchases, Siri, Shortcuts, dictation and device services.
RevenueCat: purchase validation and subscription entitlement management.
PostHog: optional pseudonymous product analytics for users who enable analytics.
Vercel: website hosting, privacy-focused aggregate Web Analytics for www.snop.dev, and transmission of support and newsletter requests.
Cloudflare: Turnstile abuse prevention for the website support and newsletter forms.
Airtable: storage and management of support requests, attachments and newsletter email addresses.
Professional advisers or authorities: limited information where reasonably necessary and permitted by law.

We do not sell or rent personal data or share it for targeted advertising.

5. International transfers

Apple, RevenueCat, PostHog, Vercel, Cloudflare, Airtable and their service providers may process limited information outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where Creative Crow is responsible for an international transfer, we use recognised safeguards where required, such as adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Apple’s processing of iCloud and App Store information is governed by Apple’s privacy documentation and the settings associated with your Apple Account.

6. How long information is kept

Prompts and projects: retained locally and in your iCloud until you delete them, remove them through available controls or manage them through Apple’s services. CloudKit deletions may take time to propagate or remain temporarily in Apple backups.
Purchase and entitlement information: retained as needed to provide and restore the subscription, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and meet legal, tax or accounting obligations.
Optional analytics: PostHog event-level data is retained for no longer than 12 months, then deleted or irreversibly aggregated.
Website analytics: Vercel’s daily visitor hash resets after 24 hours. Aggregate Web Analytics reports are retained according to the Vercel plan and settings in use and only for as long as reasonably needed to understand website traffic.
Support messages: support requests and attachments stored in Airtable are normally retained for up to 24 months after resolution unless needed longer for a dispute or legal obligation.
Newsletter email addresses: retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, then deleted within 90 days unless we must retain a limited record to honour an opt-out or meet a legal obligation.

Removing Snop from one device does not necessarily delete content in iCloud or on another device.

7. Your choices and controls

You can:

create, edit and delete prompts and projects in Snop;
disable iCloud for Snop through Apple device settings, where supported;
manage or cancel the subscription in App Store settings;
use Restore Purchases;
enable or disable any optional analytics setting;
remove Snop from your devices;
unsubscribe from the Snop newsletter or ask us to remove your email address; and
contact us about information Creative Crow holds through support, analytics or subscription systems.

Because Creative Crow does not operate a Snop account or hosted prompt database, we may be unable to access, export or recover prompt content held only on your devices and in your private iCloud.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask Creative Crow to access, correct or delete personal data it holds about you; restrict or object to processing; receive portable data; withdraw consent; and complain to a regulator. To exercise a right, email support@creativecrow.io. We may need to verify your request. Rights are subject to legal limitations. If you are in the United Kingdom, you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the opportunity to address the concern first.

9. Security and backups

Snop uses Apple platform protections, local device security and CloudKit to store and synchronise content. No system is completely secure. Protect your devices, Apple Account and passcodes. Synchronisation is not an independent backup. Changes and deletions can propagate across devices, and device loss, software defects, iCloud issues or user error may cause content to become unavailable. Keep separate copies of anything important.

10. Children

Snop is a general productivity tool and is not designed specifically for children. Snop does not ask users to provide their age, does not require a Snop account and does not send prompt content to Creative Crow as part of normal app operation. If a child uses Snop, a parent or legal guardian should review the app and approve any purchase where required. App Store purchases are handled by Apple and may be subject to parental controls such as Ask to Buy. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data directly to Creative Crow, for example through a support request.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Snop, its providers or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide appropriate notice where a change materially affects rights or data use.

12. Who we are and how to contact us

Snop is provided by Creative Crow Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15080594. Creative Crow is the controller for personal data it receives and determines how to use. Creative Crow Ltd
